General Overview

The Product Data Exchange (PDX) solution for Vendors that require integration with their upstream master data systems or sources have the option of using an external API to import products instead of using Excel file imports.

Similar to the Excel import process, Vendors using this method would categorize their products, apply mappings, transformations, and ultimately submit their products to a retailer's channel using the PDX application.

This allows the Vendor to automate new product imports and updates to existing products based on triggers in their master data system.

The PDX external API (also known as the "FeedAPI") allows data syndicators to programmatically load, update, and manage product data and assets within PDX.

This API is designed to automate the synchronization of master data into PDX, while channel-specific tasks like categorization and submission are handled within the PDX UI.
